How this list was made
This list draws on Google review ratings as of August 2026. Clinics were included if all of the following applied:
- Located in Seoul
- Surgical facelift confirmed — deep plane, SMAS, neck lift or brow/forehead lift, evidenced by the clinic's own published surgical information
- Google rating of 4.5 or higher
- At least 10 Google reviews
The search was limited to clinics returned by Google Maps for six queries: facelift clinic Seoul, deep plane facelift Seoul, neck lift plastic surgery Seoul, and their Korean equivalents. Clinics outside that search were not added.
Two points of caution. Google ratings reflect reception, facilities and accessibility more than surgical outcomes — they are not outcome data. And surgical capability was verified from each clinic's own published material, which is promotional in nature. Treat both as starting points for your own questions, not as verification.
Clinics that offer only non-surgical lifting (ultrasound, radiofrequency, thread lifts) were excluded, as were clinics whose facelift technique could not be confirmed from published sources.
What a facelift actually covers
"Facelift" describes a family of operations, not one procedure.
A SMAS facelift lifts the superficial musculoaponeurotic system — the fibrous layer beneath the skin — rather than skin alone. A deep plane facelift releases the retaining ligaments below the SMAS and repositions the composite flap, which reduces tension on the skin closure. Extended deep plane widens that dissection further. A neck lift addresses the platysma and submental area and is a separate procedure, frequently performed alongside a facelift. Mini lifts use shorter incisions and a narrower dissection.
Which applies to you depends on where laxity sits, skin thickness, and prior surgery — not on age alone.
How to choose a facelift clinic in Seoul
Confirm the surgeon, not the clinic. Ask who will perform the operation and whether they are a board-certified plastic surgeon. In Korea, specialty status is verifiable — see how to check.
Ask which planes they work in. A clinic that performs deep plane, dual plane and mini lifts and explains when each applies is describing a decision process. A clinic offering one branded technique for every face is describing a product.
Ask what the anaesthesia arrangement is. Full facelifts commonly run three to four hours. Ask who monitors anaesthesia and what emergency provision exists.
Ask what aftercare is scheduled. Facelift recovery is managed over months, not days — dressing changes, suture removal, scar management, and follow-up at one, three and six months. Ask what is included and what is billed separately.
Ask what happens if you live abroad. Establish before booking how far post-operative care extends, at what point you can fly, and how follow-up works remotely.

Facelift vs mini facelift vs thread lift
These are not three strengths of the same treatment.
A full facelift repositions the SMAS or deeper composite tissue through incisions along the hairline and around the ear. Results are typically discussed in terms of years. Recovery is measured in weeks.
A mini facelift uses shorter incisions and a narrower dissection. It suits limited lower-face laxity. Some surgeons argue that a short incision constrains how much tissue can be repositioned, which is why several clinics above define when they consider it appropriate — and when they don't. A thread lift is non-surgical: barbed sutures are inserted to reposition tissue. It is a different category, with a shorter duration and a different risk profile. It does not substitute for surgery where laxity is moderate or severe.

Pricing varies with surgical extent, technique, anaesthesia arrangement and aftercare programme — which is why quotes for "a facelift" differ so widely between clinics. What to expect as an international patient
Ask about interpretation, and confirm it will be available during consultation rather than only at reception. Establish the earliest date you can fly — this usually depends on swelling and haematoma risk rather than on suture removal. Agree how follow-up will work once you return home, and who reviews your photographs. Several clinics above document overseas cases; ask for specifics rather than assurances.
